Foreign language teachers, like all design their courses by first investigating and paying attention to learners’ special needs. In this paper, a needs analysis survey is presented. This took place in class of adult graduates from Greek Merchant Marine Academies. Learners are naval engineers who participate postgraduate course with the purpose upgrade professional diploma. The subject includes both general English for Specific Purposes—English related vessel engine operation, service maintenance. learner done help questionnaire. questionnaire consists six parts. These examine beliefs concerning reasons learning language, proficiency as well that they might have dropped out past. questions asked closed questions, checklists, rating scales open questions. Results show learners prefer English, because view it useful work. fact, need be able read comprehend operation manuals compose written forms required them. Concerning teaching methods, found group work activities. They also find textbooks series studies Academy useful. Still, propose material modification which more activities technical vocabulary practice tasks.
